Project: Paint, water, and fire debris remediation project
Client: Plastech Engineered Products, Franklin, Tennessee
Summary: This project called for the removal of large amounts of paint waste, water
(from fire-fighting operations), and waste debris which resulted from a plant sprinkler system from this industrial plant fire.
Water migrated towards the outside of the plant and a storm drain, threatening to impact the storm water system of downtown Franklin, Tennessee. First Response personnel secured the storm drain by deploying migration barriers nearby the storm drain.
The First Response Vacuum Truck was stationed outside of the paint booth to collect water and paint on the floors of the plant. Personnel re-staged portable tote tanks and palletized drums to clear the impacted plant floor for proper cleaning. Fire-damaged paint filters and other debris was collected and containerized for transport and disposal.
First Response personnel utilized pressure washers to remove paint waste from walls inside of the industrial paint booth and the horizontal and vertical surfaces impacted with waste from the plant fire.
A total of twenty-five (25) drums of paint waste, solids, and waste-impacted debris were relocated from the fire-damaged paint booth and surrounding plant "space".
